Insects: The Art of Detail

An exhibition presented with Institut Pasteur du Cambodge

Inauguration on September 12-13
Exhibition until November 1st, 2025
Accompanied by a conference and a cinema selection around biodiversity

What if there existed, in nature, a world populated by tiny creatures, often imperceptible, sometimes dangerous, essential to our survival yet threatened today? The exhibition "Insects: The Art of Detail" reveals this unknown, abundant and beautiful biodiversity through a series of photographs taken by the Medical and Veterinary Entomology Unit of the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge, in partnership with the Embassy of France.

Trained in groundbreaking photographic techniques developed by French inventor Nathanaël Maury, members of this unit can capture extremely small subjects in very high resolution, such as mosquito eggs. These remarkably sharp images reveal breathtaking details, essential for identifying species and understanding their interactions with their environment. They also reveal unexpected elements, thus opening new perspectives in entomology—the study of insects.
