Arco est un petit garçon de 10 ans, originaire d'un futur lointain et paisible, qui se retrouve accidentellement projeté en 2075 et découvre un monde en péril. Il tisse une amitié touchante avec une jeune fille nommée Iris, et ensemble, avec Mikki, son fidèle robot protecteur, ils se lancent dans une quête pour ramener Arco chez lui. Ces deux enfants sont peut-être les seuls à pouvoir sauver notre planète.

Au-delà d'un récit initiatique, Arco se mue en une réflexion sur la fragilité de l'environnement et l'évolution, parfois inquiétante, de notre civilisation. Le film souligne l'importance du rôle de l'humanité dans un futur où les machines accomplissent la plupart des tâches qui furent jadis celles d'êtres humains.

As Arco develops a charming and touching friendship with a young girl named Iris, they band together and along with her trusted robot caretaker Mikki, set out on a quest to get Arco home, while the two children may also be the only ones who can save our planet. 

While a coming-of-age tale, Arco descends into a commentary on the fragile environment and worrisome progression of civilization. The film focuses on the importance of humanity's role in a future where machines do most of their work.
