S'inspirant des sculptures et bas-reliefs du temple du Bayon, le prince Sisowath Tesso, avec l'aide de son professeur Duk Sytha, présente une toute nouvelle chorégraphie, montrée en avant-première pendant le festival Golden (r)Age qui s'est tenu en juin dernier. 

L'histoire relate le combat du jeune prince khmer et de la princesse Indra Devi, contre le roi du royaume de Champa, qui lève une armée pour attaquer le pays des khmers. S’ensuit un combat entre les deux souverains et leurs armées qui verra la défaite du Roi Cham. Après sa victoire, le prince est couronné roi des Khmers sous le nom de Jayavarman VII. Ce spectacle vous plonge dans le monde fastueux du XIIe siècle grâce à la combinaison des arts de la danse classique, du Lakhaon Khaol et des arts martiaux traditionnels du Bokator.

EN Khmer Classical Dance // The Coronation of Jayavarman VII, by the Boppha Devi Dance School

Inspired by the sculptures and bas-reliefs of the Bayon temple, Prince Sisowath Tesso, with the help of his teacher Duk Sytha, presents a brand-new choreography, which premiered at the Golden (r)Age festival last June.

The story recounts the struggle of the young Khmer prince and Princess Indra Devi against the king of the Kingdom of Champa, who raises an army to attack the Khmer land. A battle ensues between the two rulers and their armies, culminating in the defeat of the Cham king. After his victory, the prince is crowned King of the Khmers under the name Jayavarman VII. This performance immerses you in the opulent world of the 12th century through a combination of classical dance, Lakhaon Khaol, and the traditional martial arts of Bokator.
