Everything You Need to Know About the DELF

Obtain a Diploma in French Language Studies (DELF) or an Advanced Diploma in French Language Studies (DALF), the only official diplomas in French as a foreign language issued by the French Ministry of Education.

They certify competences in French for personal, school, university or professional purposes. Valid for life, recognized worldwide and taken each year by over 480,000 candidates in 175 countries, they are made up of 6 independent levels corresponding to the common reference levels defined by the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages): A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 et C2.

Duration of the 4 compulsory tests


Notation :

  • Each exam is graded out of 25 points.
  • To pass the diploma, the candidate must obtain at least 50/100 in total and a minimum of 5/25 in each exam.
  • Any score below 5 out of 25 in an exam is disqualifying.
